Originally the 2nd floor of the house was 4 bedrooms, a sewing room, and a full bathroom. Today we use the space as two suites; each with its own bedroom and sitting room, the shared bath, and a storage room. The hardwood floors and high ceilings give a spacious and airy feel to this floor. The rooms are large and sunny with a carpeted hall and of course more chandeliers and period wall sconces! Our plan was to use these rooms as a bed and breakfast. The plan changed, though, when the children came back to live with us again.

2nd Floor Hall
The Hall chandeliers are quite unusual; they both are in the transitional period (half gas/half electric) but the gas portion was intended to look like candles with an open flame. The Hall is 45' long and 4.5'wide.

The Tower Suite
The bedroom in the tower is a 10.5' diameter round room with a good-sized closet. There are two Art Deco style nickel wall sconces and three large radiused windows. The bedroom has a door directly to the hall as well as a door connecting to the sitting room.

Cat not included with sale of the house!

The Sitting room is extremely large 19' x 16.5' with a walk in closet and three large sunny windows.

The Garden Suite
The bedroom and the sitting room are equally sized (14.5' x 13.5') rooms. Each with 2 large sunny windows and a connecting door.

The sitting room has 2 more Art Deco style nickel wall sconces and a chair rail.

The 2nd Floor Bathroom
The second floor bath is large (over 100 sq ft) and very period looking. It has the original claw foot tub fitted with an old style shower and a large pedestal sink with brass fittings (both from Renovator's Supply)

The Storage Room
A small room (9' x 7') was originally probably a nursery or sewing room. It was made into a kitchen in the 1930's when the second floor was converted into an apartment and is still fitted for gas and has a double sink. We had planned to make it into a small kitchenette to be used by our bed and breakfast guests, but we haven't gotten around to it.
